Reverend Frank Woodson is the Founding Pastor of Covenant Community Fellowship Church in Birmingham, Alabama, a Kingdom-focused congregation committed to worship, fellowship, discipleship, and mission. His ministry journey reflects a lifelong commitment to church governance, discipleship formation, education service, and community restoration. He began in trustee leadership as a 1989 Trustee at AOH Cathedral (AOH Church of God) and was later ordained in 1999 at New City Church (NCCC). That same year, he served as COO/Chaplain of Cornerstone Schools of Alabama (Birmingham), strengthening students and families through pastoral care and leadership.

 

After theological training at Grace Theological Seminary (Indiana) in 2000, he served at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in discipleship leadership roles, including Staff Minister for YBL Discipleship (2002) and the Ministry Leadership Team (2004).

In 2005, Rev. Woodson served on the Steering Committee for Convoy of Hope (City Reaching). In 2008, he became Director of Mission Birmingham, an interdenominational para-church NGO, and in 2009 he founded Covenant Community Fellowship Church. His community service expanded through major relief and partnership efforts, including a 2011 International Disaster Relief Concert (TBN), founding and leading Mission Alabama (2012), appointment as a 2013 Commissioner in the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Service, and steering roles with the Festival of Hope (Franklin Graham) in 2015. In 2019, he founded City Serve Alabama, and in 2020 coordinated the Farmers to Families Food Box effort, helping distribute over 50 million pounds of food. Across every assignment, Rev. Woodson has labored to demonstrate the gospel through deeds of love, justice, and mercy—forming leaders, strengthening families, and building partnerships that transform communities.

Pastor Woodson is married to First Lady and Sr. Chaplain Treva Woodson reside in Birmingham Alabama and together they have six children and six grandchildren.
